Payments

Florida Blue PaymentsNot all policies require a payment with the application. This will depend on whether you are renewing a plan with Florida Blue from last year or you are new to Blue.

If you are new to Blue, or you have decided to renew with Blue and are changing Plan Families (this is a change from an HMO to PPO/EPO or vice versa) a binder payment is needed before your policy will go in force.

This means that you will need to make a payment before the effective date of the policy. (typically 1/1) Your agent may have already worked with you to schedule this payment or you will receive a bill.

If you are renewing a Florida Blue Plan, or remained on the same plan, and have an active APO (also known as EFT, automatic payment option), you will not need to do anything for payment and your plan will remain on the same billing option that you currently have established.

If you did not make a binder payment with your policy, you will need to do this before the policy will be active.

If you didn’t make a payment when you applied for coverage, you’ll need to make your payment in full before your coverage will start. Look for a payment letter and a bill in the mail.

It can take up to 10 days to process your payment. If your payment is still processing when your coverage takes effect and you need care right away, there will be a few extra steps to verify your payment and coverage first.

What You'll Need:
  • Member Number or Application ID
  • Social Security Number
  • Zip Code
  • Birthdate
  • Bank or credit card information

** Please be advised that your contract number is located on the bill that you have received from Florida Blue. This helps to insure you pay on the correct policy when calling. Your App Id is located on the application that your Agent sent you. This can also be obtained from your agent.

After your first payment you are also able to make payments locally at ACE Cash money stores, or through MoneyGram locations, and CVS.

Payments at a retail location: When making a payment at retail locations you must have a printed copy of your bill with scannable bar code or the mobile app in order to process this payment. Any additional questions regarding payments please contact your agent or our customer service team.
